Cambrian Network Inc. – Privacy Policy
Effective: Aug 18, 2025
1) Overview
We are Cambrian Network Inc. (“Cambrian,” “we,” “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use:
- docs.cambrian.org (including free test queries),
- opabinia.cambrian.network (API endpoints),
- the “Cambrian Network” Discord server, and
- our https://x.com/DeepFortyTwo accounts/bots (together, the “Services”).
We design our Services to collect minimal personal data. We do not sell your data.
2) Information we collect
What we collect by default
- Queries and outputs: the text/parameters you send and the results we return (retained to provide, maintain, and improve the Services).
- Authentication & developer data: your API key (and basic account metadata from our auth provider, currently Clerk) so we can provision and secure access.
- Channel‑specific identifiers: your Discord user ID/handle if you use our Discord bot; the public key associated with an x402 payment if you pay that way.
- Service logs: timestamps, request counts, and similar operational metrics (we do not log IP/device information by default).
Information you choose to provide
If you include personal data in your queries or other communications, we will receive it. Please do not include sensitive personal data (e.g., government IDs, financial account numbers, health data) in queries.
From service providers
We use vendors to operate the Services (e.g., hosting, analytics, authentication, payment rails). They may process limited data on our behalf under contracts that restrict their use of your information.
3) How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Services;
- analyze usage and improve models, quality, and features;
- enforce terms, prevent abuse, and protect rights;
- comply with legal obligations.
We may create aggregated or de‑identified statistics from queries/outputs and usage to understand and improve performance. We do not sell personal data.
4) Sharing
We share information only with:
- Service providers acting on our behalf (e.g., hosting, authentication, analytics, payment providers including x402‑related services);
- Affiliates as needed to operate Services;
- Legal/Compliance recipients when required (e.g., to comply with law or protect rights);
- Business transfers (e.g., merger, acquisition), where permitted by law.
We do not sell data to third parties or allow them to use it for their own advertising or profiling.
5) Cookies and similar technologies
Our websites and docs may use minimal cookies or local storage for essential functions (e.g., authentication/session) and basic analytics. You can adjust browser settings to limit cookies, but the Services may not function properly without them.
6) Data retention
We retain queries and outputs and related operational logs as long as needed to provide and improve the Services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. If law requires deletion (e.g., certain regional rights), we will comply—see Section 9.
7) Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures (e.g., encryption in transit, access controls, need‑to‑know employee access). No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8) International transfers
We are based in the United States and may process data in the U.S. and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross‑border transfers.
9) Your rights
Depending on your location (e.g., EEA/UK, California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, object to, or restrict certain processing, and to data portability. You can also opt out of marketing communications (we send primarily service notices).
To exercise rights, contact privacy@cambrian.org. We may need to verify your request and identity (usually via your account or API key). We will honor deletion requests where required by law and may retain information as permitted for security, compliance, and operational integrity.
10) Children’s privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
11) Third‑party platforms
When you use our Discord or Twitter/X channels, those platforms may process your information under their own policies. We do not control their practices. For x402 payments, blockchain transactions (and related metadata) may be public and persist indefinitely.
12) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We’ll post changes and the effective date at docs.cambrian.org (or within the Services). Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the changes.
